This is one of the tours aimed to be a break from the COVID issues.
- The whole idea is as a breakaway, not a long holiday.
- We stay inside the country.
- We keep the tour short if someone becomes ill it is easy to get out.
- I try to keep the tour as cheap as possible.
- We avoid people and the virus as far as possible.
This tour is a short, 5 night, tour focusing on the flower area of Namaqualand and the Cederberg. We visit the Namaqua national park and west coast for our flower experience. We should be in the middle of the flower season.
The next section is a very special night at the West coast camp site. We do a bit of sand driving, visit the seal colony and just have a bit of fun. 1 Night in case of bad weather, but enough time to see what is out there.
Then we head inland again and on to the Cederberg area. 2 nights here will give us a day to explore what there is around here and also a day to do a bit of trekking in the reserve. Visiting of the well known rock formations. A bit of wine tasting and nature trails.
If you are interested please let me know. This will be one of those seasonal tours that only has one season. Reports from the Cape is that they had good rains so a good flower season is expected.
We all make our way to the starting point of our journey. We meet at our overnight accommodation at Springbok.
We will be here for two nights and explore the northern Namaqualand from here.
We take the day to visit the Namaqua national park and we tour their various spots for flowers and other interesting things. Once we are done we go back to our Springbok campsite.
We go back in to the Namaqua national park for a second day as we slowly make our way to our coastal campsite for the night. We pay a visit to the seal colony on our way.
A very special night on the beach.
After breakfast we continue down the beach until our exit at Groenriviermond from where we head to Vredendal. We stop for shopping and then on to the Cederberg.
Here we will camp for 2 nights.
Weather permitting, we will be exploring the area and drive a few backroads and passes in the mountains.
Wine tasting also on the list of things to do.
We are done with the tour and I head to the start of the “die Hell” tour. Join me for this Eastern cape expedition on my way back to JHB.
