This is one of the tours aimed to be a break from the COVID pains and celebrate life.
This tour is a short, 6 night, tour focusing on the flower area of Namaqualand and the Cederberg. It follows directly on the heals of the Richtersveld tour and is ideal to do together and start experiencing the flowers in the northern area already. We visit the Namaqua national park and west coast for our flower experience. We should be in the middle of the flower season.
The next section is a very special night at the West coast camp site. We do a bit of sand driving, visit the seal colony and just have a bit of fun. 1 Night in case of bad weather, but enough time to see what is out there.
Then we head inland again and on to the Cederberg area. 2 nights here will give us a day to explore what there is around here and also a day to do a bit of trekking in the reserve. Visiting of the well known rock formations. A bit of wine tasting and nature drive.
We all make our way to the starting point of our journey. We meet at our overnight accommodation at Springbok.
We take the day to visit the Namaqua national park and we tour their various spots for flowers and other interesting things.
Once we are done we head down to the coastal section for the night.
After breakfast we continue down the beach until our exit at Groenriviermond from where we head to Vredendal. We stop for shopping and then on to the Elandsbaai area for the night.
From Elandsbaai we head inland towards the Cederberg for two nights.
We will be exploring the area and drive a few backroads and passes in the mountains enjoying the flowers in the inland areas.
Wine tasting also on the list of things to do.
We head north in to the Nieuwoudville area and explore the flowers there. The largest concentration of bulbous flowers in the world.
Our tour concludes and I head back to JHB
