Overview
This is one of the tours aimed to celebrate life.
This tour is a short, 6 night, tour focusing on the flower area of Namaqualand and the Cederberg. We visit the Namaqua national park and west coast for our flower experience. We should be in the middle of the flower season.
The tour includes is a very special night at the West coast camp site. We also take a few backroads in the Nieuwoudville area.
Then we Zig zag all the way down to Yzerfontein. From there back up to the Cederberg where our tour ends and the next tour, 50 passes start.
The Itinerary
Day 1.
We all make our way to the starting point of our journey. We meet at our overnight accommodation at Springbok.
Day 2.
We take the day to visit the Namaqua national park and we tour their various spots for flowers and other interesting things.
Once we are done we head down to the coastal section for the night.
Day 3.
After breakfast we continue down the beach until our exit at Groenriviermond from where we head to Nieuwoudville. Normally one of the flower hot spots.
Day 4.
We take the back roads and visit more of the normal flowering hot spots and finall end up in Elandsbaai.
Day 5.
From Elandsbaai we will be exploring the area and drive a few back roads along the coastal area. We see where the best displays are and head there.
Finally we end up in Yzerfontein.
Day 6.
We head to an olive farm for a bit of a tasting and then north in to the Cederberg mountains.
Here a bit of wine tasting before our last night. This is also where my Cape fold mountain pass tour begins if you were interested.
Day 7.
Our tour concludes and I start my Cape fold mountain pass tour .
Tour specific comments
Vehicle:
A normal 4×4 or 4×2 ( No towing for 4×2 )will work. The worst is a few sand stretches.
Drivers:
No experience required, I personally guide the tour and will give you everything you need as we go.
Towing:
You may bring your off road trailer, bush caravans is ok.
Other:
No passport required.
