Morocco 2026 Itinerary

Obviously this tour is your tour and I am happy to bend and mould as we go based on what is happening on tour. Therefor I have given you the driving day maps and plans for you to be able to be as free as you want to be. Fun will be had, of that I am sure.

The following Itinerary is what I am planning and I will try to stick to, to add some structure to the tour. Our departure time will adjust based on conditions and I will give those times on tour as we go. You will see motorhome timing is different from camping, you can literally get out of bed and depart in your jamies.

Also on our “medina” days you are free to visit whatever you have read about or want to see. I will issue Medina day itineraries seperate from this.

Day 1, 20 April 2026

Everybody makes their way from the airport to the Riad at their own speed. There is a shuttle service available as far as I remember, but a taxi will cost you around 15-20 Euro.

We sleep in a Riad near the Marrakech medina which means you are close to everything and should not need a taxi again.

I would suggest looking at the menu at the riad and decide if you are going to have dinner there or elsewhere.

Refer to my Marrakech page for more info.

Day 2,

We have the day to explore Marrakech.

All the Medinas are quiet in the mornings getting bussier around lunch and are at their peak around sunset. So your medina experience will be based on your departure time and what you want to experience.

Day 3

Around 10am. After breakfast we check out of our Riad and at your own leisure grab a taxi to get to Le Relais Campsite where your motorhome will be waiting. A taxi will cost about 10 Euro

Important! Familiarise yourself with your new camping car, unpack and make sure everything is working.

We can sort out the small things that might be outstanding.

Then saddle up either in your new home or with a Taxi and head to the supermarket. Do your shopping, stock your van and head back to camp for the night.

They have a nice pool at Le Relais and wifi. Take the afternoon and chill, or go back to the medina for an evening experience.

Day 4.

Today we avoid busy towns and head to the high Atlas Mountains. No shopping required and we take it easy and learn about our new rigs.

Stop for photos and lunch and whatever, but finally make our way to Ait Benhadou. Famous for films and shows. If you want to go into the ruin, you can, I think it is free but there is always someone prepared to show you around for a fee. Across the creek is a parking spot to have a CC coffee ( Camping Car ) if you are not interested to go in to the ruins.

From here we head to Ouarzazate for the night.

Day 5

Depart from our campsite and head to the valley of roses. This is like visiting the winelands and there are several small things and shopps happening everywhere. Stop at your own leisure.

We will stop at a rose shop.

From there we carry on and find the Valley of Dades. Again in to the valley until we U turn and find our camping spot in the valley.

The hotel offer meals if you are interested.

Day 6

We exit the valey of Dades and find our last valley where we visit the Todga Gorge, a well known land mark for a brief stop. From there we head through the desert to Merzouga.

Haven La Chance is one of the many riads and hotels. They have a lot of space on the edge of the desert.

Merzouga also has a small town market and shops if you were interested.

Find a spot in the campsite for 3 nights.

Day 7

We explore the area or just relax or go for a buggy ride in the dunes or whatever.

A bit of carpet and scarf shopping. Then late afternoon we will be on the camels for those interested.

The overnight cameleers will leave for their overnight tent in the afternoon. We leave our camping cars in the campsite.

Day 8

After breakfast the overnighters return to camp.

You have the afternoon off for shopping or washing or whatever.

Take a breather.

Day 9

An early start as we have a rather long driving day.

We head back to the mountains and wind our way through valleys and hills towards Fes.

An interesting coffee shop at tea time for a bite to eat or a coffee.

We head to Diamant Verd for 3 nights

The group in 2024 said Fes is worth 3 nights, so that is what we will do.

Day 10, 11

3 nights in Fes will give us chance to catch up with groceries, washing and more exploration time.

We will visit the Fes Medina and have seconds if you wanted to.

Day 12

We head north to Chefchaouen. We have a few choices of road, but first we will stop at Volubilis.

Again a mid afternoon arrival leaves us an opportunity for a sunset spot or nightlife medina visit in Chefchauen.

Day 13

This is Chefchaouen medina day.

Day 14

We  make an early start and head west, to Casablanca.

An interesting drive through very old olive groves, with olives and olive products sold everywhere.

We arrive in Casablanca late afternoon, for 2 nights.

Mimosas camp site.

Day 15,

This day we use to explore Casablanca.

Also time to catch up on washing and shopping.

The Hassam II Mosque has morning visiting hours of 9,10 and 11am ( when I last checked ) So if you wanted to enter the mosque rather go early morning. For lunch time prayers the mosque is closed to the public. Please dress appropriately and be prepared to leave your shoes at the door, socks will work for walking in the mosque.

To get to the mosque you can use your camping car and park close by the mosque, or grab a taxi. It is about a 30 min drive to the mosque.

Day 16

We head further down the coast to Essaouira.

On the way we stop at El Jadida, an old Portugese town.

We arrive at Les Oliviers camp near Essaouira.

Day 17,18

This is the Essaouira medina days.

Essaouira is a more touristy town with eateries and film making history, laid back and relaxed. Enjoy the day in town.

There is a wine tasting walking distance from our camp.

Day 19

We head back to Marrakech and should be there mid day. It is only about a 4 hr drive. So if you had a last carpet to collect or shopping left to do this is your chance.

We spend the night in Le relais Marrakech, camp site and this is also our last night.

Day 20, Saturday 9 May 2026

The end of our tour and we say our good byes and break up to get back home.
